Gently loved costumes begin a new chapter instead of sitting unused.
Through cultural exchange and goodwill
We share donated costumes with children in the Dominican Republic—creating space for imagination, connection, and joy.
Joy is meant to be shared.
One costume. One connection. One happy moment.
Our mission
Create Happy Moments began with a simple idea: costumes that children have outgrown can bring a fresh sense of wonder somewhere else. The result is more than a donation—it is an exchange rooted in dignity and human connection.
How it beganHow it works
Gently loved costumes begin a new chapter instead of sitting unused.
Donations travel through relationships built on respect, exchange, and goodwill.
Children get the freedom to imagine, dress up, and create a happy moment of their own.
Happy moments created
Two holidays, two countries, one thing in common.
We collect gently used Halloween costumes, clean them and ship them to the Dominican Republic, where children wear them during the country's carnival festivities in February. Kids in the U.S. and the D.R. learn about each other's traditions, history and culture in a fun way—all while practicing the reuse–reduce–recycle mindset.

One brunch, many voices, countless traditions.
Adults share their happy childhood memories, culture and traditions with the community over brunch. We play cultural and traditional childhood games, break bread together, and learn about where we all come from—creating community and unity while fostering rich cultural conversations.

Free books, shared cultures, every neighbourhood.
These boxes carry books of heritage, history, arts, languages, food, cultural novels, comics, geography and cultural traditions about the people in our community. They operate like a regular library—neighbours borrow books and return them when due. Each box also contains community resources, art supplies, family cultural activities, a first-aid kit and a sanitizing station.
